BRUTAL!!!
Our connection to La Sorga’s Antony Tortul goes back to 2013, when he generously took the time to let us taste through his cellar. The strict 0/0 niche is still a small one, so over the years we’ve crossed paths at many salons, shared great conversations, and built a lasting bond.
In 2024, at C’era Una Volta—organized by Le Coste in Italy—Michael brought a few samples from our cellar for a late-night post-salon tasting with Antony and Patrick Bouju. As each new sample was poured, the circle of tasters grew. One wine in particular stood out—it stole the show, and just like that, we had our first BRUTAL!!!
Now that we have the label, each year we pick a one-of-a-kind barrel: something that doesn’t quite fit our usual lineup, that stands out, that makes people stop and stare when we taste it in the cellar.
