2021 Black Betty

Some background

The wine is named after the first lamb that was born in our former Domina vineyard: Betty. Who was – as most of the Ouessant sheep – black. Logical, isn’t it?

How we made it

As we liked the frost blend of Domina and Regent we had to do  in 2020 we decided to stick to it for now as quantities were not overwhelming again in 2021 due to the high powdery mildew pressure causing severe damage. The remaining healthy Domina grapes were stomped and briefly macerated, the much darker Regent pressed directly. Both batches fermented in old oak barrels before being racked and blended in summer 2022 before bottling.
