2020 Kleine Heimat

How we made it

One of the few vineyards we actually own is situated in Rödelsee, 15 minutes away from the winery. It’s in the middle section of the hill (called Schwanberg) with a gentle slope and an extraordinary soil.

In the frost year of 2020 this was one of the few vineyards that came with a regular yield. The bunches were destemmed and as this vineyard tends to ferment rather slowly rather macerated than fermented for about a week before pressing. Everything else happened in a 1.200l barrel. The wine was racked the summer after harvest and moved in a stainless steel tank to settle before being bottled in April 2022.
